Another search ! Dire Straits enter the Top 40 at #30 which got me to thinking
What was the highest debut in the Top 40 for an act with their debut hit ? in the 1970′s. It seemed so rare since only one debut act in 1978 managed to to debut in the Top 40 as high. “Hot Child In The City” by Nick Gilder debuted at #30. But it wasn’t that rare. Ok we will start at the debuts at #30 and work our way UP !
